Cost & Management Accounting is a certificate programme designed to train students for working in different industries and corporate functions. In India, the credentials of the CMA course are issued by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).

Certified Management Accountants typically work as cost accountants, risk managers, budgeters, corporate accountants, FP&A managers, management accountants, financial strategists, and executive decision makers. CMAs are needed in public or private organizations as well as in government agencies. CMA certification hones skills in accounting and financial data analysis, which can be leveraged to improve performance and make strategic business decisions.

A candidate should have passed Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution To Be eligibli To regester to CMA Fondation Exam

Passed the Senior Secondary School Examination under the 10+2 scheme of a recognized Board or an Examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto or has passed the National Diploma in Commerce Examination held by the All India Council for Technical Education or any State Board of Technical Education under the authority of the said All India Council, or the Diploma in Rural Service Examination conducted by the National Council of Rural Higher Education to appear for the CMA Foundation Exam

Any Candidate who has passed the Foundation examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India will be exempted from Foundation Course

The CMA India course follows a structured journey, starting with the Foundation Route for those who have passed Class 12th or a Direct Entry Route for graduates in any discipline other than Arts. 

Mode Of Exam : 

Written exam conducted offline at approved centers.

Exam Period :

CMA Foundation exam conducted twice the year

Exam Pattern :

All the papers are objective (no negative marking)

Pass Criteria :

Students need to score a minumum of 40% in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all the papers to pass

The CMA India Foundation syllabus is a comprehensive and challenging program that covers all aspects of accounting, finance, and business. Course is divided into 4 Papers:

Paper 1: Fundamentals of Business Laws And Business Communication (FBLC)

Paper 2: Fundamentals of Financial And Cost Accounting (FFCA)

Paper 3: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics And Statistics (FBMS)

Paper 4: Fundamentals of Business Economics And Management (FBEM)

Passed Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) and Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India/ Graduation in any discipline other than Fine Arts/ Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination of CAT of the Institute and Competency Level Part II Examination of CAT of the Institute
Passed Foundation of ICSI/Intermediate of ICAI with 10+2.

Pass Criteria :

Students need to score a minumum of 40% in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all the papers to pass

CMA India Intermediate exam is divided into 2 groups:

Group 1

Paper 1: Business Laws and Ethics

Paper 2: Financial Accounting

Paper 3: Direct and Indirect Taxation

Paper 4: Cost Accounting

Group 2

Paper 5: Operations Management and Strategic Management

Paper 6: Corporate Accounting and Auditing

Paper 7: Financial Management and Business Data Analytics

Paper 8: Management Accounting

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India officially prescribes the CMA Final eligibility criteria on its official website.

Candidates should check the following eligibility requirements-

Qualified CMA Intermediate exam.

Valid CMA registration number.

Completed prescribed training of the CMA Final course.

You shouldn’t lose your eligibility for the CMA final exam.

Candidates who have passed the CMA Intermediate exam in the June session will not be allowed to sit for the CMA Final December session.

Exam Mode: The CMA India Final exam is conducted offline at a designated exam center. The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) does not currently offer the option to take the exam from home.

Exam Period: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, also known as ICMAI, conducts the CMA exam twice in one year. The two terms of the CMA exam are conducted in December and June sessions.

Exam Pattern: CMA Final exam consists of 8 papers divided into 2 groups and one elective paper.

Pass Criteria: Score at least 40% in each subject paper

Achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate marks across all papers in a group

Paper 13: Corporate And Economic Laws (CEL)

Paper 14: Strategic Financial Management(SFM)

Paper 15: Direct Tax Laws And International Taxation (DIT)

Paper 16: Strategic Cost Management (SCM)

CMA Final Group 4 Subjects

PAPER 17: Cost And Management Audit (CMAD)

PAPER 18: Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR)

PAPER 19: Indirect Tax Laws And Practice (ITLP)

CMA Final Electives Subjects

Paper 20A: Strategic Performance Management And Business Valuation (SPMBV)

Paper 20B: Risk Management In Banking And Insurance (RMBI)

Paper 20C: Entrepreneurship And Startup (ENTS)
